Two people were killed after their car struck a tree on Route 1 late Tuesday night.
Middlesex County said a 21-year-old driver identified as Ziyad Elsaedi, of North Plainfield, and the front passenger were killed after the car went off Route 1 southbound in the area of Jeff Street around 10:15 p.m.
Two other passengers were admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
The identity of the dead passenger was yet to be released.
It is yet to be known that what caused the crash.
