Two people are dead and one person was injured after a head-on car crash near Caldwell in Burleson County, Texas on Friday.
The crash took place just before 6:30 p.m. on State Highway 36 when one car being driven by a 29-year-old identified as Michael Piper, of Houston, was going northbound and started passing cars in the left-hand lane when he struck a car going southbound.
The other car was being driven by a 29-year-old identified as Roykeisha Burnette, of Austin.
Burnette and Piper were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say Burnette’s passenger, identified as Anthony Smith, 27, of Killeen, was ejected from the car and admitted to a Bryan hospital in critical condition.
