Volkswagen stated on Wednesday production at its biggest factory had been reduced in some areas due to the supplies shortage triggered by a parts maker choosing not to keep to delivery commitments.

“A provider has actually suspended the contractually agreed delivery of components,” Volkswagen said in an emailed declaration. “This is developing a bottleneck in production” at the Wolfsburg plant that develops the top-selling Golf hatchback, the Tiguan SUV and Touran MPV along with parts.

Volkswagen refuesed to define the effect of disturbances on output and personnel. The Wolfsburg plant got about 60,000 people and churns out about 3,800 vehicles per day during peak times.
