2 dead, 4 injured car crash on Interstate 4, Sanford

Two people died and four others were injured following a car crash on Interstate 4 in Sanford, Florida on Sunday.

A 64-year-old male from Deltona was driving east on I-4 near State Road 46, before 1 a.m., before losing control of his car and hit the guardrail, according to said Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

His vehicle then swerved back onto the highway and was struck by a pickup truck traveling in the same direction.

A 57-year-old woman inside his vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was admitted to Central Florida Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, with his three passengers, had only minor injuries.

FHP has stopped releasing the names of vehicle crash victims.
