Two killed after three-vehicle crash in Escambia County, Florida

Two people died dead and one person is in critical condition after a three-vehicle crash on Sunday morning in Escambia County, Florida.

An SUV was traveling southbound on State Road 97 also known as Highway 97 at 9:44 a.m. when the driver entered into the way of a white pickup truck traveling northbound. A second pickup truck crashed with the left rear of the white pickup truck.

A 60-year-old female passenger in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene and so was the 62-year-old male driver of the white pickup truck.

Both were hailing from Cantonment.

The 65-year-old male driver of the SUV, also hailing from Cantonment, was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

No one else was injured.

Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of vehicle crash victims.
