2 killed after wrong-way car crash on 215 Freeway

Two people were killed after a wrong-way car crash on 215 Freeway near Riverside on early Tuesday.

The crash took place when a Ford Fusion was traveling the wrong way on the Freeway and crashed head-on with a Ford Focus in the carpool lane at about 12:30 a.m.

The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no other occupants in both vehicles.

The identities of the victims haven’t been released yet.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
