2011 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Grand Edition: SUV exuding style and luxury

The GL-Class Grand Edition is a unique creation from Mercedes that encompasses both the luxury features that makes the car thoroughly exclusive while being a great off-roader by technical capability. The car is fitted with a set of special light-alloy wheels done in himalayan gray metallic finish which are shod with 275/50 R 20 tires; something that adds to the off-road capability of the car. For giving it the luxury blend the car has its interior spruced up with two tone leather seats that have a new design and wood trim in black ash.

The other features of mention in this car are the radiator grille with black high-gloss louvres, dark tinted headlamps, a newly designed front bumper with integrated LED lamps, and separated exhaust tailpipe trim. The car offers several exterior metallic color options while special heat insulating and infrared reflecting laminated glass helps in keeping the interior cool.

Also, its customization that seems to be the keyword on the inside with two-tone leather seats having black and porcelain or black and maroon color combinations sprucing things up here. The two tone color scheme gets extended to the door panels as well. Other interior style elements include special piping and contrasting stitching, armrests and dashboard with double lapped felling, steering wheel featuring both wood and leather. The roof liner looks stunning in black design fabric while the other luxury enhancing features the car boasts of include velour floor mats and brushed stainless steel and stainless steel door sills.

All special edition models are incorporated with PARKTRONIC feature. The car is also makes good use of the SCR exhaust gas technology. This helps the GL 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC to develop 211 hp with fuel consumption factor of 9.0 liter of diesel per 100 km. As for engine line up available for the models, there is the 265 hp V6 diesel unit that powers the GL 350 CDI 4MATIC, the 340 hp 4.6 liter V8 petrol in the GL 450 4MATIC and the 388 hp 5.5 liter V8 petrol on the top end GL 500 4MATIC. Price of the GL 350 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY starts at €80,206 while that of the GL 500 4MATIC can go as high as €99,127.
