The base price of the 2011 Cayenne S Hybrid has been fixed and announced as $67,700 by its maker Porsche. This price though excludes destination costs and charges. The car does not comprise any gas-guzzler tax like any other Cayenne models. There are 197 authorized dealers of the Porsche in the US and this car would make its way to their showrooms by next month. Fitted with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 and electric motor this is the same fit as that of the Audi S4. The petrol engine delivers 333 hp and the electric motor generates 47 hp which is equivalent to 34 Kw.
The total power generated by this combination of petrol and electric is 380 hp. It therefore is a case where one gets the fuel consumption of a Cayenne car with a V6, while the power is that of a V8.
Acceleration factor of the car is 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. The top sped of the car is 150 mph and the fuel consumption rate is 21 mpg in city and 25 in highway while emissions being within the laid down EPA regulations. On a full charge the car can touch 37 mph but the range is limited to a mile only.
