Russia’s standards agency, the Rosstandart, stated on Monday that the regional retailer of Nissan motors had informed it about the recall of 33,275 Nissan Qashqai cars because of possible risks of brake liquid leaks.

On 12 December 2012, the Renault–Nissan Alliance established a joint venture with Russian Technologies (Alliance Rostec Auto BV) in order to become the long-term controlling shareholder of AvtoVAZ, Russia’s largest auto company and owner of the country’s biggest selling brand, Lada. The takeover finished in June 2014, and the two companies of the Renault-Nissan Alliance took a joint 67.1% stake of Alliance Rostec, which in turn obtained a 74.5% of AvtoVAZ, thereby giving Renault and Nissan indirect control over the Russian producer.
