South Korean automaker Kia Motors on Monday announced that it has suspended all its operations at its solitary manufacturing plant located in Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh, India with immediate effect.
The decision has been taken in response to the spread of coronavirus. It also stated the operations have been stopped until further notice.

The company informed it is closely watching the situation and making sure that the best interests of everyone involved with its operations in the nation. A number of leading automakers in India have also announced the temporary closure of their plants because of coronavirus crisis for varying periods of time.
About 425 people in India have been confirmed as being infected with the coronavirus. The virus has killed 8 people in the country.
