Four killed after car crash in Branch County

Four people were killed after a head-on car crash on Saturday afternoon in Branch County, Michigan.

Officials responded to the crash at 3:05 p.m. on Marshall Road just north of Bidwell Road and they found that an SUV had crashed with a pickup truck head-on. Deputies saw two unresponsive adults in the pickup and one unresponsive adult in the SUV.

Both drivers were seriously injured after the crash.

Official took out the female driver and she was taken by Life Care Ambulance to Promedica Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash took place when a 45-year-old identified as Christopher Raymond, was driving the SUV southbound on Marshall Road when his car crossed the center line and hit the northbound pickup driven by Theresa Mills, 62.

The passengers in Mills’ truck were identified as Angela Balowski, 44, of Union City and William Balowski, 22, of Battle Creek.

Raymond and the Balowskis all pronounced dead at the scene.

Mills succumbed to injuries at Promedica.

Marshall Road was shut for some hours due to the crash.

Branch County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police Accident Unit and the Branch County Coroner’s Office were investigating the crash.
