2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS500 By Kicherer: “Edition Black”

by Zack Colt

Once again, the German tuner Kicherer has decided to mess with one of the Mercedes-Benz models, this time the CLS500, dubbed “Edition Black”. The performance package Kicherer had prepared for the original Mercedes-Benz is based on the last generation Mercedes CLS500, and it includes lots of upgrades and details like matte foil, exclusive wheel/tire combinations, consistent performance increase and the intense use of high-quality carbon-fiber elements.

The car improved by Kicherer is, as its name says, covered with a matte-black foil that gives a certain touch of style and discretion to the vehicle that is continued by a brand new set of 20″ RS-1 forged wheels developed in house and combined with a sportive chassis adjustment, and completed by the black theme in the interiour, with a specifically developed, black-finish interior set.

Even with all these features, it can easily be said that the interiour and the exteriour weren’t considerably modified, but the same thing cannot be said about the engine. The CLS500’s 4.7L V8 engine is to deliver 440 HP and 464 lb-ft of torque, up from the standard 402 HP and 443 lb-ft of torque. Perfect deceleration is provided by a high-performance brake system with steel flex brake lines. The tuner will also be offering a Power Converter system that eliminates the automatic gear inertia.
