A car crashed into a home located in north suburban Skokie, Illinois late Sunday night.

The crash caused significant structural damage to the home in the 8600-block of Gross Point Road, cops said.

The owner of the house said the crash led the walls and ceilings to start shaking.

The homeowner added that nobody from his family was injured.

The driver of the car was also not injured either, cops said.

The family said they heard a “bang” and ran to see a vehicle in the middle of their home have caused damage to the building.

The driver was taken into custody, and alcohol was found in the car, but the direct influence of alcohol is yet been confirmed.

According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, about 281,788 crashes involving motor vehicles on Illinois roadways took place in the state during 2011.
