Detroit Electric to make Sedan and Hatchback Models

by SpeedLux

Detroit Electric has recently revealed plans to expand its lineup through the creation of a sedan and hatchback after the company recently released its first sports car ever.

As per the company, the cars would be comparatively cheaper than the Detroit Electric SP:01 sports car which is priced at $135,000. However, the car will borrow much of the electric technology developed for the SP:01.

The news was announced by Albert Lam, chairman and CEO of Detroit Electric and Don Grandstadt, CEO of North American operations at the official press briefing for the Detroit Electric SP:01. They also stated that the new models would be made for everyday practical use and the cheaper among the two will cost just between $30,000 and $35,000.

No further details were revealed by the company officials but Detroit Electric has plans to eventually produce 40,000 of these cars annually.
