Four people were killed in a one-vehicle crash on I-40 near Clinton, Oklahoma according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

Casualties included two children.

According to an OHP crash report released on Monday night, the crash was reported on eastbound I-40 near mile marker 60, about five miles west of Clinton in Custer County.

A 2014 Hyundai Sonata was traveling eastbound on I-40 when it left the roadway to the right in a gradual manner, hitting a concrete drainage ditch. Officials said the vehicle then drove over the bridge embankment, became airborne and struck the bridge’s concrete retaining wall. It rolled and came to rest upside down.

Two adults have been identities. One is 27-year-old Aime Tarango and another one is 36-year-old Marleen Moncada, both from Oklahoma City. They were pronounced dead on the scene.

Two children, a 7-year-old girl, and 3-year-old boy, were also killed in the vehicle crash. A 16-year-old was admitted to the hospital and was said to be in stable condition.

The cause of the crash is yet to be known.
