Tesla crashes 2 police officers in China

Tesla Inc said on Tuesday it would work with officials to investigate a car crash in China that officials said caused the death of a police officer and injured another.

A video shared on China’s social media Weibo showed a Tesla Model X next to two police officers lying on the ground following an accident.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the Monday accident has been arrested, police in the eastern city of Taizhou said in a post without describing the circumstances of the accident.

News of accidents involving Tesla vehicles in China has gone viral on social media in recent weeks.

One person driving a Tesla sedan was killed in a car accident in Guangzhou’s Zengcheng District near Dongjiang Dadao Bei on 21 April.

Similarly, in April, an unhappy customer made headlines by clambering atop a Tesla at the Shanghai auto show to protest the company’s handling of her complaints.
