One killed in Cass County car crash after driver lost control of car

A 39-year-old, Derrick Hydron of Niles, Michigan, was killed after rolling his vehicle on Friday night

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office’ Richard J. Behnke, deputies were called to investigate a car crash involving a single car around 6:00 p.m. Friday on Sisters Lake Road north of Haley Road in Silver Creek Township.

Through the investigation, officials said Hydron lost control of his car in the curve on Sister Lakes Road and went off the road, rolling his car.

Drugs and alcohol were thought to be a factor in the accident. Officials also reported no seatbelt was used.

The crash was still under investigation. Sister Lakes Fire, Pride Care EMS, and Pokagon Tribal Police assisted with investigation of the crash.
