Six killed after a three-car crash in Los Angeles

Six people were killed after a fiery three-car crash at a busy intersection in Los Angeles.

The crash took place in the Windsor Hills area of the city just before 2 pm.

Six people were killed and seven people were also injured.

Two of the engulfed cars came to a stop at a Shell gas station, and the third appeared to have rolled onto its roof close to the entrance to the gas station.

One of the cars, a black Mercedes-Benz, was moving at high speed southbound on La Brea Avenue before it crashed with one of the other cars. The driver of the car went through a red light before the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Identities of the victims were yet to be released.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
