Volkswagen‘s Skoda Auto said on Tuesday its worldwide deliveries declined 12.6% year-on-year in 2021 to 878,200 cars as the industry continues to have a hard time with semiconductor shortage and the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.

Among its regional markets, the automaker saw the steepest fall in China, with deliveries dropping 58.8% to 71,200 cars.

However, it saw 148% growth in December 2021 over December 2020 in India. Compared to 10,387 cars sold in 2020, the automaker saw annual sales of 23,858 units in 2021 in the country.
