Tata Motors Unveils TAMO Racemo at Geneva Motor Show

Tata Motors has unveiled Racemo sports coupe at the Geneva Motor Show as the first product under the automaker’s TAMO sub-brand.

Developed at the Tata Motors Design Studio located in Turin, Italy, Racemo is a two-seater sports concept that declares to have a 0-100 km/h in simply six seconds. In order to accomplish such a thing, Tata has adjusted the vehicle with a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron gas engine which provides 190 PS of power and 210 Nm of torque and mated to a 6-speed AMT transmission with paddle shift. Remarkably, the engine is made from aluminium which would assist in keeping the weight of the unit low and comes in a mid-mounted engine, which will assist in keeping the center of gravity low.

There will likewise be a Racemo+ offering which is going to be a faster, track variation of the model.

Discussing at the revealing, Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD, Tata Motors stated, “We introduced our sub-brand TAMO as our answer to brand-new technologies, business models and partnerships. The model is the first development from TAMO, and our emotional, unexpected leap to the future. Symbolising the change that is happening at Tata Motors, Racemo is the showing ground of the TAMO family of automobiles and will drive the future of India’s connected generation.”

Racemo is constructed on the MOFlex Multi-Material Sandwich (MMS) structure– a structural technology, which will make it possible for higher flexibility in surface area style, effective large-scale part integration causing modularity and faster time to market.

The automaker’s other launches included the Tigor and Nexon models at the Geneva Motor Show and is expected to introduce RaceMo in India by early 2018.
