This time, its a Ferrari 458 Italia that catches fire in Paris

by Alex

A brand new Ferrari 458 Italia caught fire in central Paris recently. The owner while chauffeuring in his super sports car noticed that one of the rear wheel arches had started to burn. What makes the incident more deplorable is the owner had bought the vehicle only just a few days back.

The fire that seems to have got initiated in the wheel spread rapidly from thereon. However, there are no reasons or explanation as of now that could describe the cause of the fire. In a development that seemd to be straight out of a film or a novel, the incident witnessed a passer-by who luckily had a fire extinguisher in hand and he was able to extinguish the fire. Isn’t it very dramatic or crazy? It is but still a truth and car fans are thankful to this savior.

The sedan that caught fire was the 458 Italia powered with a 4.5 Liter V8 engine. The sports car is equipped with the conventional Ferrari flat rotating shaft, which establishes the mid-engine sports cars their signature top end bark. The unit produces about 570 HP. The high 9000 RPM engine gives the future sports car a power output of 127 HP/Liter. The car weighs in at only 3042 pounds. The new Ferrari is capable of sprinting from 0 MPH to 60 MPH in just 3.4 seconds. The sedan can hit a top speed of 202 MPH.

There have been several instances of such similar incidents lately in which the Lamborghini Murcielago caught fire in Netherlands and a very recent incident in which the lottery winner Rahul Patel lost his brand new Audi R8 in Flames. (Rahul Patel had won the Audi in a lottery ticket along with huge financial reward). Even the BMW 1-Series was delayed due to a potential fire risk. It is a good time to therefore invite what the readers think about these incidents. Do leave your remarks and opinion below about what you think about these fire incidents that is increasingly becoming common.
