Two dead, three injured after car crash in Cameron County

Two dead, three injured after a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday in Cameron County, Texas.

It was around 5:49 p.m. when a white Chevrolet Spark, occupied by three individuals was moving north on FM 506 on the wrong side.

A silver Chevrolet Camaro, occupied by two individuals was moving southbound on FM 506.

The Chevrolet Spark hit the Camaro head-on.

The victims have been identified as Benjamin Caballero, 36, the driver of the Chevrolet Spark, and passenger Mario Antonio Solis Sumano, 41. They were from Weslaco.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third passenger was identified as a minor who sustained injuries and is in critical condition.

Both occupants of Chevrolet Camaro were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
