Two died after car crash on Route 50 in Osage County

Two people died after a car crash along U.S. Route 50 in Osage County, Missouri on Friday evening.

State troopers attended the site of the crash at around 5:00 p.m. on U.S. Route 50, just east of Highway N, between Linn and Mt. Sterling.

The crash took place when one of the vehicles tried to make an improper pass while trying to pass a tractor-trailer.

The vehicle did not see another vehicle coming on the eastbound lane resulting in a head-on crash.

Both drivers, identified as Kale Durr, 22, and Zachary Patchin, 28 were pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway was blocked after the crash as Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
