Two killed after car crash on Highway 7 near Silver Lake

Two people were killed after a car crash in McLeod County, Minnesota on Thursday.

The crash took place around 11 a.m. just north of Silver Lake on Highway 7.

A car driven by a 25-year-old identified as Wilmer Herrera was driving west on highway 7 when it crossed the centerline and struck an SUV going east.

Herrera and his passenger, a 21-year-old identified as Fanny Perez were killed in the crash.

A 2-year-old boy and the driver and passenger of another vehicle were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

Minnesota State Patrol investigated the crash.
