Two killed, four injured after car crash in central Kansas

Two people were killed and four others were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash at a county road intersection in central Kansas.

The crash took place at around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday at NE 50th Avenue and NE 40th Street in Stafford County when a northbound Dodge Ram and a westbound Saturn Vue crashed in the intersection. Both automobiles left the roadway and went into a ditch where the pickup rolled and came to rest upright.

A passenger in the pickup, a 51-year-old identified as Peter Laskowski of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, succumbed to their injuries at a hospital in Pratt. The driver of the Saturn, a 17-year-old identified as Tate Martin of Ellinwood, Kansas, was admitted to a Wichita hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The 21-year-old driver and one of the passengers in the pickup, a 52-year-old man, had small injuries, and a 64-year-old male passenger experienced serious injuries.

A 17-year-old male passenger in the Saturn was also injured.

Kansas Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
