Two killed and four injured in Dickinson County, Iowa

Two people were killed and the other four were injured after an accident in Dickinson County, Iowa.

The accident took place on Saturday morning at the intersection of Highway 71 and 120th Street northwest of Superior.

A 29-year-old identified as Mariah Nelson, of Jackson, was driving a car eastbound on 120th Street.

She went through the stop sign and crashed with a pickup truck driven by a 63-year-old identified as Allen Weinzetl, also from Jackson.

Nelson and her one-year-old son were pronounced dead at the scene.

Nelson’s daughters, a 5-year-old and a six-year-old were admitted to Spirit Lake hospital before they were transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital.

Weinzetl was admitted to a Spirit Lake hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His passenger, a 58-year-old identified as Teresa Chonko, was being treated at a Sioux Falls hospital.
