Two killed, one injured in Highway 401 crash near Cornwall, Ontario

A man and a woman from Brampton died and another man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 401 near Cornwall, Ontario on Thursday afternoon.

The crash took place just before 4:30 p.m. on the 401 westbound between Boundary Road and McConnell Avenue.

The car left the roadway and struck into a ditch, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The two victims, a 64-year-old man and a 55-year-old female, were declared dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.

The injured man was 46 years old and is also from Brampton.

Traffic was rerouted off the 401 until midnight while police investigators continued their investigation.
