Volkswagen temporarily shuts production at Chattanooga due to fire

Volkswagen on Tuesday shut down production at its Chattanooga, Tennessee, assembly plant because of a fire.

Production is set to resume by Wednesday.

Some workers were treated for smoke inhalation but there were no serious injuries.

The fire was extinguished shortly after 9 am.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Volkswagen is yet to disclose how much volume was lost because of the shutdown.
