1 dead, 4 injured after two-car crash on I-75 in Lee County

One died and four others were injured on New Year’s Eve in Lee County, Florida.

The crash took place when a 30-year-old man was driving south on Interstate 75. He failed to stop for traffic congestion and then he hit the car in front of his car.

After this, the second car which was driven by a 27-year old woman with 3 passengers hit an empty fuel tanker.

The second car then landed on top of the front of the first car and the fuel tanker came to a rest in the inside lane.

Both drivers and an adult passenger were hospitalized. Their condition was serious.

An 8-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries in hospital while an 8-year-old girl was being treated for her critical injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
