Ireland‘s new car sales in June surpassed pre-coronavirus crisis levels for the first time this year, according to Central Statistics Office (CSO).
In June, Ireland saw sales of 4,980 new private cars, 1,122 units higher than it sold in June 2019.
But the overall number of new private cars sold during the first half of this year is still 22.9 percent less than in 2019.
A total of 59,823 new private cars were sold in Ireland in the first half of this year, which account for a 21.6-percent increase more than a year ago.
The statistics showed that a total of 39,962 used private cars were sold in the country during the first half of this year, increasing 50.3 percent year-on-year but still, 22.7 percent less when compared to 2019.
