More powerful Nissan GT-R coming, Spec R version in the pipeline

by Alex

The 2012 Nissan GT-R is already a monster vehicle with an impressive 530 hp on tap delivered by the 3.8-liter DOHC V6 engine. Still, there is great news for all the ‘Godzilla’ fans as the 2012 JDM model will come with some more power. According to 7tune, the 2012 Nissan GT-R JDM mode will come with an extra 30 hp, giving it a total output of 560 hp. Moreover, the Japanese manufacturer is edging to introduce the ‘Spec R’ version of the GT-R which will succeed the Spec V.

The increase of power of the 2012 GT-R JDM model will throw a challenge for sports car manufacturers like Porsche, as the new car is expected to be insanely fast on the Nurburgring racetrack. According to the confirmation from sources the Nissan GT-R will start Nurburgring tests by the end of May.

The great news is that the new Spec R version will be lighter, and a slight reduction of 30-40 kilograms in overall weight is expected. The 2012 GT-R JDM model will also be more fuel efficient.
