One more Tesla crash blamed on car’s Autopilot system

The most recent crash was involving a Tesla Model X and it took place Sunday early morning near the town of Whitehall, Montana. Neither the driver nor traveler were hurt in the single-vehicle crash, the Montana Highway Patrol informed the newspaper.

Autopilot is a name for a suite of functions available on the Model S sedan and Model X SUV that utilize radar and video cameras to guide the vehicle in its lane and automatically match speeds of slower traffic ahead. The system can likewise immediately change lanes when the driver hits the turn signal.

The car failed to discover an obstacle in the roadway, as per a thread published on the Tesla Motors Club forum by somebody determining themselves as a friend of the driver. The thread included pictures revealing the damage to the car.
