Derailment resulted in train car pileup in Dunn County

A train derailed in Dunn County resulted in a pileup of train cars on Highway 12 Sunday.

The Menomonie Fire Department stated the incident occurred around 4 pm on Highway 12 and 190th Street close to the Village of Knapp.

The department stated that about 18 train cars are piled alongside the tracks.

Officials stated there were no reported injuries.

The Dunn County Sheriff, Kevin Bygd, stated Highway 12 and 190th Street will be closed for train clean up during the rest of the night. It has been suggested to avoid the area.
