Buyers in the US will soon have four exciting options to choose from as Mercedes Benz announced they are now working on the four future models which they intend to launch in the US in the next four years, which will include a production version of the A class coupe. What’s more, Mercedes has also said all of the future models would be priced less than $30,000. So if its swanky and ostentatious in the UK, it needs to be compact to be accepted by the US.
The American roads will get a dose of the revving of Merc engines in the shape of a small van, probably an electric one; a CLC- a small sedan; a GLC- another small car, but this time, a crossover.
The current A Class is doing very well in Europe but the decision to launch it in the US was reversed since it did not quite appeal to the American sensibilities; it had to be different from its counterpart in the UK, and that became the deciding factor for this reversal of sorts.
In addition to the standard safety features, the new vehicles would come with adaptive cruise control, traction control and pre-safe safety systems that adjust the seat-belts and head restraints as soon as the car senses an impending crash.
Luxury vehicle owners are also moving towards compact cars. And if you go by the overwhelming initial response, there could be no better time for Mercedes to make a mark in the US market.
