crash between pickup and train near Maize in Kansas

Two were killed after a truck and train crashed on Tuesday 53rd St. N. & 135th St. W., near Maize, Kansas.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said a woman in her 30s died following the crash and her two daughters who were passengers in the truck at the time of the crash were injured.

Both were admitted to the hospital with critical injuries.

The woman was driving a pickup truck that was hit by the train. The two juveniles were passengers in the pickup.

Since the railroad crossing had no arms or lights, it is possible that the driver did not see the train.

The crash is under investigation.
